GHS – The Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals – replaces the current system of labelling which you may be familiar with – HSID. Click here for the new story detailing implementation dates and explanation of GSH … now read on for what this means for your company:
What to look out for:
GSH will replace the HSID labelling system that we currently use, this means the pictogram on an orange square that you will be familiar with, will change to a new design based on a red diamond. Health + Safety ‘phrases’ will also be updated in line with this.
Up until 1st December 2010, you can use both current HSID and new GSH labelling, however it must be noted that you cannot use them both on the same box. If you decide to implement the new GSH regulations before December 2010, you can no longer use the old HSID system.
